A Monarch Money alternative: Prisvera

Monarch (formerly Monarch Money) became the natural home for many people after Mint closed: a polished, complete money app for US households, with real collaboration between partners and advisors. If you are weighing it against Prisvera, the honest starting point is that they are different kinds of tools.

What Monarch does well

Budgeting is its craft: automatic categorization, subscriptions, bill calendar, goals, cash flow. Its bank connectivity is among the broadest in the US (13,000+ institutions across several data providers), collaboration seats for a partner or advisor cost nothing extra, and its “ad-free, built for you, not advertisers” stance is genuine: it sells subscriptions, not attention.

Where Prisvera differs

What the tool is for. Monarch is organized around budgets and monthly cash flow. Prisvera is organized around understanding: your whole net worth (property, loans, equity compensation, investments, crypto), scenarios to reason about the future, and a calm view you compose yourself. Prisvera is deliberately not a budgeting app.

Privacy: policy versus architecture. Monarch encrypts data in transit and at rest, is SOC 2 certified, and does not sell your data; that is a privacy policy, and a good one. Prisvera’s privacy is architectural: your figures are encrypted on your device before they travel, and our servers cannot read or compute over them at all. A policy can change with an owner or a business model. An architecture cannot.

Geography and language. Monarch is built for the United States. Prisvera is Spanish-born and European in outlook, with multi-currency at the core and English as an equal.

Data entry. Monarch’s bank sync is its convenience. Prisvera has none, by design: manual entry and file imports, no credentials handed to anyone.

Which to choose

If you live in the US, want your banks connected and your budget managed, and value collaborating with a partner or advisor, Monarch is one of the best tools you can pick.

If you want to see your whole financial life rather than your monthly budget, prefer privacy that rests on mathematics, and think in years rather than pay cycles, Prisvera is built for exactly that.
